Stok Kangri

Located at 6153 m, Stok Kangri is a trek majorly designed for seasoned trekkers. To do this trek you do not have to be well versed with the techniques. You do not need many types of equipment too. To do this trek, you need two or three days acclimatize. When you trek to the peak, the sights bedazzle you. Karakoram and Zanskar ranges sit loftily with sun kissing their peaks and sending a wave of chills and rushes through your mind. The time to do this trek is ideally between July and September.

Kang Yatse Trek

A very non technical trek, Kang Yatse is not very far from Markha Valley. Beginners and amateurs can consider doing it if they are in Ladakh for their very first time. Leh is the starting point for this trek. Nimaling pasture is a point where the trek has some great views. July to September is the best time to do it.

Lamayuru to Alchi trek

This trek takes you through the spiritual side of Ladakh. You visit several traditional gompas, the amazing valleys of Wanla and Sumdochoon. Sumdo Chenmo is spotted when you trek to Alchi. The Alchi monastery is on the way and is situated 69 kms away. If you come here around mid-june then you can have a great time trekking here. The trekking season lasts upto mid October.

Ripchar Valley Trek

The trek begins from the Lamayuru monastery and takes you through beautiful landscapes and refreshing flora and fauna. In this entire trek you will get glimpses of Zanskar and Ladakh ranges. When you arrive at Chilling village, you will have done the full trek. The ideal time for this trek is from July to September.

Rumtse to Kiber Trek

Leh is the commencement point in this trek. The trek takes you through Rumtse, Kibber village, Tsokar and Tsomoriri, Paran La at 5800 m, the legendary Tsomoriri Lake which changes colour! The best time to do the trek will be from June to October.

Chadar Trek

In the Zanskari local dialect, this trek is called Khado Sanglam. Tsarap River freezes in winter and the white sheet of ice that forms gives it this name. This trek is for seasoned trekkers and is a once in a lifetime opportunity. This is a winter trek and the best time to do this is from Mid Jan to Mid Feb.

Hemis To Padum Trek

Hemis trek begins from Hemis and you pass through monastery of Hemis and Latza Kongmaru. The trek passes through Zalung Karpo La, Tilut Sumdo, charchar la, Zangla sumdo, and reaches Padum, the final destination. The ideal time to do this trek is Mid August and September.

Lamayuru (Sham Valley) Trek

Lamayuru trek is another of the spiritual journeys which you can do in an adventurous way. You come through Thikse, Spituk, Alchi, Hemis and Lamayuru monasteries. The trek is not very strenuous. The maximum height you will do is 4500 m. Lamayuru village itself is pretty small and typical. Be here to enjoy the local encounters. Likir monastery is also on the way. Do this trek from June to October.


Markha Valley Trek

Markha Valley route is like walking your dream. The landscapes are gorgeous, the peaks are humbling and the experience of ebing there is out of the world. On this trek you will pass through passes that are higher than 15000 feet. The ideal time to do this trek is from September to December.

Phyang to Hunder (Nubra Valley)

Do this trek for the thrill. Do it because you will pass through Khardong la, the pass situated at 18380 feet. The trek takes you through Nubra Valley. Khalser, Khardon village and Deskit. The highlight of this trek is the camel ride from Hunder to Deskit. Enroute you pass the monastery and also the ancient silk route. Keep in mind that to stay here, you only have a week's permit, for which its advisable you apply much in advance. Do the trek In June or late September.
