If you are styling your home to sell, you may still want to give this next trend a try, but if you are creating a space to live in, the minimalist hotel look is a little cold and impersonal. This trend took hold when a number of home stores began offering hotel linen collections but quickly spiraled out of control. There are many ways to give a room a luxurious feeling without sacrificing personality. If you want to keep a room feeling clean and elegant avoid making bad trend choices by introducing a unique piece of artwork or other personal touch.

There was a time when color was feared by homeowners and white was the wall color of choice. When most homes had white walls, daring home owners broke out of the box by adding an accent wall to help give a home a pop of color and liven up the space.
