The first three disadvantages of a data entry position are the working conditions, the amount of money one can make and the self discipline quality. Not having self discipline is a disadvantage for any job you are going to try. In the data entry jobs available in the work at home field self discipline is extremely important since everything else included in the job depends on it. If you do not have self discipline you will not manage to work a fair amount of time that would bring you at least the same amount of money as your previous job and thus your living situation might decrease instead of increase. There are however a few things you can do to help you get working discipline.

Having self discipline is closely related to the amount of money you are going to make. Most of the people who join the data entry programs are doing it because it gives them the possibility to earn some more money and thus change their lifestyle in the positive direction. The amount of money you make depends on how much you actually work. Even though some of your costs like the transportation costs are going to be inexistent, you still have to make yourself a working schedule that allows you to earn enough money to support yourself. The third thing some people consider a disadvantage is the fact that when you are working at home you can either isolate yourself from the rest of the world or you can be kept away from actually doing the work you were set on doing. None of the mentioned disadvantages have to be a disadvantage for you, but they can be taken as pieces of advice to help you become more successful in your new career
