When taking a holiday, it's always good to make sure you've got all of your bases covered
. Once you've booked your Bali accommodation and your flights are locked in, consider our top 4 useful tips to make your Bali holiday a fun and safe one.
Visit the doctor before your leave
It is important to visit your doctor before visiting Bali so you can vaccinate yourself against Malaria and receive other inoculations as required. You may even be able to take medicine with you in case you incur an illness overseas which can help get your holiday back on track if you get sick.
If you are taking prescription medicines with you it is best to take the doctors script as well to avoid confusion at the customs office. If you will be needing to renew your prescription overseas make sure you know the names of what you will be buying in case it is different from what it is called here.
Insurance
It is a good idea to check your health insurance before leaving for your trip to make sure you are covered if anything were to happen while you were on holidays. You can also obtain travel insurance which will make sure costs are covered for all medical emergencies as well as any loss of luggage or flight cancellations.
If any of these do occur the last thing you will want to be thinking about is the cost and insurance will give you peace of mind even if it does not end up being used.
Photocopy of passport documents
If theft or loss of your passport occurs you will have difficulty leaving the country. A good idea is to always keep a photocopy of your passport, license and visa so if anything happens you can use these documents to proceed. Keep them separate from the originals and also in a safe place. It's unlikely you'll need to use them, but in the event anything does happen you'll be thankful you have them with you.
What to pack
Because of the obvious fact that you'll be in the tropics, light clothing is what you'll be wearing most of the time. Keep in mind though that the mountains are cooler and so it is advised that you bring at least one jumper or jacket with you. Depending on what activities you'll be doing a sturdy pair of shoes is important too.
Sunscreen and insect repellent are also good to pack but can be bought when you arrive. Alcohol wipes are great for using before eating or after a visit to the rest room and a flash light will come in handy while navigating down poorly lit roads and sidewalks.
Most of these items are also available at supermarkets which you can find nearby most Bali hotels however if you have them already on hand you can simply bring them with you.
It is always better to be safe than sorry and by following these simple tips your holiday will be stress free and you'll be ready for just about any emergency.
