Let's be honest, shall we? There's nothing super glamorous or exciting about bidets. At least, nothing immediately jumps out at you. Upon further consideration, however, I think we can all agree that there's nothing more glamorous or exciting than being 100 percent clean, all the time. Seriously, ask your European friends. They all know the secret to being sexy isn't the accent, but the bidet. Here's why:

Bidets get you (much) cleaner than toilet paper. Imagine what your life would be if you used dry toilet paper to clean the rest of your body! There's a reason doctors use water to wash their hands before performing surgery, instead of just wiping their hands on some Charmin.

Bidets reduce the spread of germs. Some of the worst food poisoning cases in America were caused by fecal bacteria contamination. How is this caused? Employees go to the bathroom, neglect to wash their hands and then go back to work. The toilet bidet totally circumvents this problem.

Bidets are less archaic than toilet paper. What are we, in the dark ages? Toilet paper is approximately two steps above what our ancestors used to wipe with: tree bark and leaves. You have the Internet, you love your cable TVwhy not graduate to the next level of personal hygiene technology, too?

That alone is a staggering figure, but it still doesn't take into account all of the other environmental damage toilet paper causes. To be sure, a lot of gas and other resources are required to pulp the trees to make the paper, as well as the transportation of the toilet paper to the stores, and then to your house. It's a little-known fact that toilet paper is so harmful to the environment, but it's something more people should consider.
