1. Christmas Pianist in The Gallery
The Gallery is at the very heart of The Westbury's claim that "all Dublin life is here". A superb art collection including Louis Le Brocquy, Patrick Scott and Mary Donnelly, among others, is just one of the reasons to spend a pleasant hour here.
This Christmas from November 22nd a pianist will provide some delightful entertainment in The Gallery.
The pianist will play every:
Thursday - Sunday 3pm - 5.30pm
Friday and Saturday 8.30pm -10.30pm
Christmas Eve 12pm - 3pm
Christmas day 6pm - 8pm
The pianist will also be playing on Christmas day from 12pm- 2pm
2. Dundrum on Ice
An activity that all the family can enjoy is ice skating. The main rink at Dundrum on Ice consists of 500m of ice. There is a great sound system and a super light show to enhance the experience. This is a large rink but don't be worried if you haven't skated before as there are hand rails for beginners. Adult prices start from 13.50 and 12.50 for children. Family packages are also available.

3. The Guinness Storehouse
The Guinness Storehouse is one of Ireland's most popular tourist destinations. The world's most famous beer is steeped in over 250 years of history. The tour of the storehouse covers 7 floors of the Guinness factory and culminates with visitors pulling their own pint of Guinness and taking in views of Dublin city in Ireland's highest bar, the Gravity Bar.
The Guinness Storehouse is open 7 days and is open from 9.30am and last admission is at 5pm. The adult ticket price is 15 but a 10% discount can be obtained by booking tickets online. There are also concessions for students, senior citizens and family tickets.
4. Kilmainham Gaol
Built in 1792, it is Ireland's most famous disused prison. It held throughout the years many famous Nationalists and Republicans in members of the Society of United Irishmen (1798), Young Irelanders (c1840s), Fenians and Land agitators, Parnell, Davitt. The leaders of the 1916 Ester Rising were executed here. The prison was closed in 1924. This building gives a good insight into the history of Irish Republicanism. Access to Kilmainham Gaol by Guided Tour Only. All groups must be booked in advance. Adult tickets cost 6 and there are concessions for senior citizens and group tours. Opening hours are 9.30am and last admission is at 5pm.
5. Temple Bar
Some of Dublin's best night spots, restaurants and unusual shops line these narrow, cobbled streets running between the Bank of Ireland and Christ Church Cathedral. Organisations based here include the Irish Film Centre (IFC), the experimental Projects Arts Centre and around a dozen galleries. There are also centres for music, multi-media and photography as well as a Children's Cultural Centre-an arts centre offering theatre, workshops and other entertainment for children. After the sun goes down Temple Bar's pubs come to life and there is usually a festive atmosphere in the air, but its not for the faint hearted!
