American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine: The AIUM is a multidisciplinary association with a mission of promoting effective and safe usage of ultrasound technology in the medical community. They achieve this goal by accrediting schools and programs, developing guidelines, educating members and the public and performing research.
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers: Since 1975 the ARDMS has administered exams and awarded credentials in diagnostic cardiac sonography, diagnostic medical sonography and vascular technology. This independent, nonprofit organization administers the Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Registered Diagnostic Medical, Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation Sonographer and Registered Vascular Technologist exams.
American Society of Echocardiography: The ASE is dedicated to the field of echocardiography, which is sonography of the heart and related systems.
