Never let it be said that there is a shortage of cleaning methods and products, and with a variety of flooring in your homes you will find that there is a mop for every job and surface you can imagine.
So, let's take a look at the various mops you can use to clean all types of floor surfaces.
Hardwood floors are beautiful and elegant addition to any home and are relatively easy to keep clean. A very simple way of keeping a timber floor in pristine condition is to keep it clean with regular vacuuming and then every week use a sponge mop scented with your favourite essential oil and simply use a bucket of water to wipe the floor over. The real trick to keeping a timber floor clean however is with regular vacuuming so that there is no chance for dirt to become ingrained.
Cork floors can be cleaned in exactly the same way as hardwood floors using a sponge mop to clean up any liquid spills and then cleaning once a week with a mop using warm water.
Xoncrete floors can also be cleaned using a sponge mop.
For tiled areas, you want to make sure that
grout cleaning is also taking care of. For best results a mop with a sponge head will do the trick. You can use it to clean up liquid spills as soon as they happen and you can simply did the head into a solution of vinegar and then wash the grout after it has been sprinkled with bicarbonate of soda. This formula works very well in restoring soiled grout.
Whilst all the areas mentioned above can be used to using a single mop it is not your only choice. Cotton string mops will work very well in the same areas mentioned previously with the added benefit of being able to wring them out with a twist of the handle.
Steam mops are another useful cleaning tool and are especially useful on tiled and timber floors because the heat action will assist in removing stubborn surface stains and dirt. They normally come with cotton or man-made fibre fittings that absorb the water and leave your floor sparkling clean.
When you think about it, cleaning a variety of floors is no longer a problem it used to be. Modern mops as outlined above can be used on just about any surface with great confidence and your floor cleaning problems will be a thing of the past.
