Other spouses may not be abused but leave because of abuse to kids or pets.

Some negative actions are so upsetting that the marriage merely cannot survive. And sadly, addictive activity is the kind of issue that may not be clear till the partner is married and living together for a time. If one spouse abuses drugs or alcohol, the other may file for divorce. Addiction entails self-focused behavior where the other spouse may need to shoulder the burden of monetary and family obligations while feeling guilt and blame over not being able to regulate the addiction. If the behavior does not come to an end, divorce is a likely result.

If one partner becomes tired of the other, a happy marriage will actually be tough to keep. There will be wrangling and fighting, typically for unspecified reasons, even more so when there is lack of excellent communication. Wives and husbands that can't talk about feelings or express themselves openly, honestly and freely might finish up in divorce court.
