Top Reasons Why You Need A Wedding Dj
A little over four years ago, I was blessed to have a beautiful wedding day to the man of my dreams
. It was everything I imagined and more--except in one department: the music! We thought we could handle it ourselves with an mp3 player, but I can't begin to tell you what a bad idea that was.
Many couples trying to cut costs think that a DJ or Master of Ceremonies is only a luxury, but you can learn from my mistake. Let me explain to you why not having a wedding DJ is one of my only regrets from the biggest day of my life so far.
Every couple should be able to "go with the flow" on their big day, but in order to establish the flow we wanted, my new spouse and I had to direct the musical changes or attempt to instruct someone else to do so, which was disruptive and stressful--which meant that nothing was actually flowing smoothly!
When you hire a disc jockey, you will be able to establish what you want far in advance and even plan for a rehearsal in order to make sure the musical lineup is establishing the ambiance and order you have in mind. Individual songs for cake cutting, first dance, and so on, are memorable and important, but they also know how to choose music to set the mood for mingling and eating--and how to appropriately transition.
Organization is another vital aspect of your reception that your DJ or emcee will bring to life. Why? As my spouse and I went through the traditional rituals associated with an American wedding, we found that it was difficult to attract the guests' attention toward what we were actually doing.
A proper announcer will know how to conduct everyone's focus while also keeping them entertained and engaged in the celebration, which may include the overseeing of a few "reception games," such as the Dollar Dance or similar activities. My spouse and I were unable to participate in any of these creative wedding games without a proper conductor.
Before officially hiring your disc jockey or emcee, you will want to find out if all the songs you insist on are available. This is simple enough, but remember to be more thorough than just ascertaining the songs that you want for the milestone moments (first dance, father-daughter dance, garter toss, and so on)--find out if your favorites are available for dancing throughout the evening.
When you make your choice, be sure you have a good rapport with the DJ in question. Find someone who will listen to you and try to bring your vision for a perfect wedding to life.
