The University of Illinois boasts the largest Greek population in the country over 95 organizations with 6,850 members, which is 22% of the student body. Because there are so many organizations, the campus is booming with diverse Greek life, which provides all students with an opportunity to be part of something, including 44 fraternities, 29 sororities,12 cultural-based fraternities and sororities, and 12 predominantly black Greek organizations.

Greek life plays an integral role of life in Tuscaloosa. Approximately 22% of undergrad men and 29% of undergrad women are involved in the schools 52 sororities and fraternities. But the most impressive aspects of Alabama Greek life? The living quarters of these frat houses. Old architecture exudes Southern charm, with stunning brick houses that look like miniature mansions, with elaborate, immaculately-kept landscapes.

3)University of Florida

The school boasts over 5,300 sorority and fraternity members, but the quality of the members academics is whats most impressive. The average GPA of UF Greeks in 2010-2011 was 3.28, with 51% of having a GPA of 3.4 or higher in the Fall of 2010, and 12% having a perfect 4.0. Of the schools 64 chapters, nine are historically black Greek-letter organizations, showcasing the schools emphasis on tradition and diversity.

4)University of Southern California

When you think of USC, chances are, youve heard more about the football powerhouses Heisman trophy winners and national titles than you have its Greek life. But Southern Cals 3,500 Greek members, compromising 60 chapters, are viable members of their communities. In fact, the schools sororities and fraternities raised a combined $300,000 annually for local and national charities.

While Greeks tend to have a reputation nationally as hardcore partiers, the students of Ole Miss are some of the most well-rounded Greeks socially and academically in the country. Members are involved not only in their organizations but hold leadership positions within Student Government and play an integral role in the community. Most Greek organizations at Ole Miss require members to participate in a certain number of service hours each semester, in addition to chapter responsibilities.

6)University of Georgia

The University of Georgia houses over 61 chapters for mens and womens Greek organizations, comprising 23% of the student body. UGA is known among Greek organizations nationwide as having some of the most beautiful fraternity and sorority houses out there, including Greek Revival and Victorian mansions. Many members of the chapters at UGA are legacies, so history is very important to them. Rush can be highly competitive, and the social scene is booming every night of the week. In other words Greek life in Georgia is not for the faint at heart.
