Pack lightly

The climate here is predominantly tropical and that means warm with a high degree of humidity. Even in the most prestigious locations, the general dress code is casual - though there may be some exceptions in certain luxury hotels or particularly exclusive restaurants etc.

Chill out

Although the service standards in most luxury St Lucia hotels will be typically second to none, over the island as a whole the prevailing culture will be Caribbean. What that means is that punctuality might be a rather variable concept and not everything might happen as quickly as you would like. The local default may be a little hot for your taste so when ordering ask how hot the dish is in spice terms, and do not hesitate to ask for a milder version if the waiter tells you that its regarded as spicy.
