Toy Story 3 Coming To Theaters

Toy Story 3 is slated for release to theaters this Friday

, June 18, 2010. Are you ready for adventure? Will your children keep their 3-D glasses on for the duration of Toy Story 3? If not, theres always IMAX, where I will be taking my daughter for the first time. I havent been there yet either, so it should be great time! The previous Toy Story films made a killing, and Im sure it will be the same for number three.

Disney has been reaping the benefits of this film well before it release with promotional items like Hotwheels cars, collectible cards, glow-in-the-dark action figures and so on. Maybe theyll even break a record! Cars currently holds the record for making the most money in merchandise for Disney and Pixar. Star Wars merchandise has made the most thus far. Disneys goal is to make a total of $2.4 billion this year from its promotional products. Im sure Ill be making my share of contributions to Disney at Toys R Us after my daughter sees the movie! .

The Toy Story 3 lineup looks fairly good and, of course, we will have our share of new characters in the mix like Mr. Pricklepants, a unicorn named Buttercup and more. You will hear some of the same voices like Tom Hanks and Joan Cusack, as well as actors like Whoopie Goldberg, Bonnie Hunt, Timothy Dalton and more! Im sure that it will be entertaining overall.

My only concern is the same one I have every time I watch a childrens movie. I hope the jokes dont become too adult-oriented. Barbie and Ken appear to be getting a little close and the triceratops looking for a partner online seemed a little mature for my five-year-old daughter. Hopefully Toy Story will maintain as much of its innocence as possible. Either way, Im sure it will be a blast and I cant wait to check out in IMAX!
