Tracking Your Shipment Via Gps
Savvy customers are beginning to realize that GPS isn't just for finding your way to the nearest McDonald's
. Many customers who've grown accustomed to the national delivery services are coming to expect that any delivery service will offer real time GPS tracking of shipments. One of the first things that many customers ask when looking for a Miami courier service to do business with is whether or not they offer this service. Most courier services are now offering this, however, some of the smaller "mom and pop" type outfits still may not.
If real time GPS tracking isn't an absolute requirement for you, you may have to ask yourself whether it's really worth it. After all, it is a feature that costs the Miami courier service money to install and implement and you can expect that they will pass those costs onto you. This is one reason why you may actually want to find a "mom and pop" outfit that does not offer it, when cost is your biggest concern. If you do need or want it though, you should still be able to find a service that isn't going to charge you an arm and a leg for it. Courier services are required to provide an itemized list of all charges and surcharges to customers upon request. Thus, you should know at the time of shipment whether you are paying a large additional fee for real time GPS tracking.
Whether or not a Miami courier service charges for GPS tracking will vary by company, depending on their corporate philosophy. Some companies may see it as a way to make a few extra dollars on each delivery, while others will look at it more as an opportunity to offer a value-added service to their customers, and in turn bring in more business.
But is real time GPS tracking every really necessary? Even if it is an incredibly important shipment of golden snow cherries from Japan, knowing that it is over the city of Yokohama at this very moment is not going to make your package get to its destination any sooner. In addition, GPS tracking isn't going to offer any additional security against your package being lost or misplaced. GPS tracking is really just a "bells and whistles" feature that is nice to have, but isn't always critical. You just need to decide whether having the novelty of seeing exactly where your package is, is worth the possible added expense.
