Traffic Magnet - The Best Content Distribution Software?
This article is actually a review of Traffic Magnet
, online content distribution software to help with your traffic generation. However, content distribution is a large subject for Internet marketers, and there are many different approaches to getting it done. For this reason, I want to discuss it in a rather round-about fashion and take a look at the various methods... including fully automated, and partially automated content distribution software programs you might choose... first. That will bring us, in a more logical way, to my final recommendation.
Traffic Generation Means Content Distribution
So, you've got your website up and running. It looks nice, it's set up with a lead capture system, and we're all set to start building a list and making money online. Now we're at the point where most people run into problems: traffic generation. How do we get people to visit our new website?
Anyone who will tell you the truth will tell you the same thing: traffic generation to your website requires you to be creating new content and distributing that all over the Internet. Your web page, your blog, video hosting sites, article distribution sites, social bookmarking sites, social networking sites... all of them are important and play an important role in traffic generation directed to your website. Traffic generation literally requires massive content distribution to all these other types of sites and more.
Content Distribution: Traffic Generation Is Tedious
If there's one job in Internet marketing that can be considered tedious, it's content distribution. Going from site to site to distribute an article, or bookmark a link, can consume hours and hours of the typical online entrepreneur. Obviously it's worth it in terms of traffic generation... just ask anyone who has done their work correctly and has found themselves in the #1 Google search ranking for their chosen keywords. That kind of exposure to a targeted audience is the basis of success... so we'll all agree that distribution needs to be done. No matter how tedious and time consuming it may be.
Content Distribution Software: To Automate Or Not To Automate?
Eventually we all come to the same point with this problem, and we ask ourselves if there isn't some way to automate the whole process? Isn't there some form of software that will take this burden off of us? Isn't there some way to handle this that won't chew up all my waking hours?
Well, yes... there are several. We'll discuss them quickly here:
1) Outsourcing - This is the simplest, but the most expensive way to overcome this problem. Find a firm that does content distribution and have them do it for you. Many firms will put you on a once-a-week or once-every-two-weeks distribution plan aimed at traffic generation. You deliver content to them... articles, videos, blog posts, podcasts... on a certain day of the month. They take it from there and distribute your content everywhere over the next week or so. This takes the entire program off your shoulders... and traffic generation becomes a matter of content creation only... and then, of course, paying the bill. However, since content distribution is time-intensive, it's also not cheap. Make sure you shop around.
2) Fully Automated Distribution Software - This is one way to save money. Do the distribution yourself, but use some type of software to get it done. When we enter the world of content distribution software, we find two types of things: the fully automated and the partially automated. The fully automated software simply does the job for you. You enter information once and off it goes, entering your content into one website after another, and hopefully resulting in good traffic generation.
That sounds good, but there's a real problem here: many sites now have ways of rejecting automatically entered information, and Google has developed ways to tell whether content discovered by its spiders has been entered manually or automatically as well. This means that recently, use of fully automated content distribution software can lead to content being rejected by certain sites, as well as Google refusing to index some content. There have been incidents of Google and Yahoo ceasing to index certain sites after they decided that those sites were attempting traffic generation through totally automated methods
So... what's a mother to do?
Read on...
3) Partially Automated Distribution Software - Recently, software has become available that partially automates the process... making it much quicker and easier, while preserving enough "hands-on" activity to satisfy Google and any others looking closely. Usually this means the software holds your content available, opens up the next website you need to submit to, and enters your content for you... speeding up the process. However, at this point the automation stops and you take over, making any changes, customizing to fit the site itself, completing any "captcha's"... leaving a human footprint, in other words... and then moving on to the next site. You're using content distribution software to maximize your traffic generation efforts... but you're doing it in a way that really just organizes your processes... streamlines them... and is acceptable to Google and the sites you're submitting to because you are still personally involved with each submission on some level.
Traffic Magnet: Constantly Updated Content Distribution Software
Now, I'm someone who hates content distribution. It can drive me crazy, but I know if I want to achieve good traffic generation, it's something I must do. So I've have looked at every conceivable way to avoid it, shorten it, make it easier, or eliminate it completely. My conclusion is simple: if you can afford to outsource your content distribution... do it. There is nothing wrong with this option and everything right with it. If you can take this whole problem off your traffic generation plate by hiring it out at a reasonable rate... that is definitely the way to go.
If, however, that's economically beyond you at this point... or if you simply want a more personal hand kept in your own business... then I recommend Traffic Magnet, online content distribution software developed by Ross Goldberg. Traffic Magnet is partially automated content distribution software of the type I've described, and the best part about it is that it's updated all the time.
One of the problems of any content distribution software is the fact that websites... places where you want to distribute content... are always changing. This week the process may be set up one way, next week that process may change. This means any content distribution software you buy outright will probably become obsolete very quickly, and there will be sites it will where it will simply cease to work.
Traffic Magnet is not software you buy once. It's a monthly membership you purchase to have the software available to you... and to have it constantly updated so it always works with all the sites involved.
Another great thing about Traffic Magnet... and I won't really go on at length here... is the fact that you can add sites to it yourself. In other words, if you know some content distribution points not boiler-plated into the system, you can add them to yours very easily, and increase your traffic generation even further.
So, in conclusion, let me say that I've been using Traffic Magnet content distribution software to generate traffic to my website... and others... for a while now. I like it, and I heartily recommend it to anyone interested in doing their own content distribution, but who wants to save time and expand their effectiveness. I've tried a lot of this kind of stuff.
