To And From The Fiumicino Airport

In Fiumicino Airport or the Leonardo da Vinci Airport there is a train called the "Leonardo Express" which travels directly from Roma Termini station to the Fiumicino Airport in only 30 minutes. It travels every 3o minutes at 5 minutes past the first trip and every 35 minutes between 06:00 until the last trip at 23:00. This train is open every day of the week, including holidays.

The fare of the Leonardo Express is about EUR14 and if there are boarding children under the age of 12, they take a free ride to and from the airport but they have to be with a paying adult.

Leonardo Express tickets in the airport can be bought at the airport's train station ticket booth or office, at self service machines, at almost all the newsstands found in the airport and at all the tobacco shops also found in the airport. The train station ticket office and the self service machines are found at main hall of the airport's train station. You could also buy train tickets online. There are a lot of sites in the World Wide Web which offers train tickets to and from the Fiumicino Airport. This may prove easier but you have to know the time of departure of the train you are going to ride in.

To And From The Civitavecchia Port

Civitavecchia Port is one of the largest ports found near the lands of Rome. Civitavecchia Port is known to be an industrial port and so it has a shuttle from the port's docks to the entrance. When going to Rome from Civitavecchia Port you would have to walk about 10 to 15 minutes towards the train station near the port. In going to the station, you need to exit the port and then cross a street where you would find the closest newsstand.

The Civitavecchia train station is on the street parallel the coastline. The train station is four blocks away from the entrance of this street.

The travel to Rome would first stop at St. Peter's Basilica which is about one hour from the train station. If you wanted to stop over and see a lot of the sites in Rome from the Civitavecchia Port, you should purchase the B.I.R.G ticket from the Civitavecchia Train Station which would provide you 24 hours of unlimited train ride. There is also a direct travel from Civitavecchia to Central Rome which will take 60 to 90 minutes.
