reading these books, you should acquaint yourself about the activities and services of Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA).
A division of American Library Association (ALA), it has emerged as its fastest growing arm. The YALSA promotes and reinforce its services to adults between the age of 12 to 18 years, by bringing them in its total library service spectrum. Besides providing services to its members which includes libraries and librarians, YALSA provides its resources to public through internet via its website.
Best Books for Young Adults: This is an annual booklist which contains around 100 or so books in both young and adult categories which are advised to those within 12 to 18 years of age.
Outstanding Books for the College Bound (OBCB): Here annotated booklist for grade 9-12 students are available. These are also prescribed by YALSA for people with long term intentions to study. YALSA updates these booklists after every five years.
Quick Picks for Reluctant Young Readers:
This list contains both fictional and non-fiction works. It is meant for recreational reading by children in the age group of 12-18 years.

Teens' Top Ten Books: Every year, the teen book groups which have been selected then nominate large number of books which are able to meet some set standards. Thereafter, all of teenagers are motivated to vote for their individual top ten.

Every year the "Teen Read Week" is celebrated in the third week of October in libraries across USA.
