Training Too Much Of The Martial Arts Is Not Good
Consumption is something that is out of control in Americans lives
. The inability to take smaller bites and segments to consume has lead us on a dangerous path. We need to temper our emotions and take things in smaller steps.
Training too much can lead to injuries and personality clashes. People are unable to control themselves, and when it comes to training, they train too much and eventually get injured. Moderation is something in our multi-task society is something that we have to control. Otherwise things will be chaotic.,
This is also reflected in the size of the average American who is larger than any other country in the world. When you start having fat losing contests on television as you number rated show you know you have a problem. Recently, with the housing crisis, people behaviors made them take on mortgages which were too large for their expense. Too many people are caught with status and size, and we have paid for it dearly with our current state of economy.
With the martial arts, students need to train less to pace themselves in the long run. Doing too much leads to injuries and burning yourself out. One of the topics that Seth Godin spoke about in one of his books was the trough where people are unable to get out of. Typically, this happens when people train too much and hard. What follows is injury, and the reluctance to get back on the mat. Breaking the cycle leads to breaking habits which may be good in the long run.
This will break the cycle that will lead the student to train consistently. Unlimited programs do not help the students, especially when they are first starting out. Giving them too much in the beginning will only hinder their progress in the long run.
Taking the steps to give them small increments will lead students to enjoy the experience, but more importantly, the habit to continue this over the long run. Our economy was very reflective on our consumption, and how it needs to slow our desire and emotions.
Don't listen and watch the majority of people. They are always wrong in most instances. Take the steps to help themselves.
