Learning how to play an instrument is an important part of a child's development
. Unfortunately, depending on how well they play, how often they practice, or what instrument they choose, their growth may become a stress-inducing nightmare for the parents. You need a place where they can go to practice their instrument where the noise they make will not bother everyone else in the house.
It is here that you can appreciate having a fairly large garage. An investment of just a little money and time can transform your garage into a perfectly adequate music room which will keep the loud noise from annoying anyone in the house.
The extent that you want to go to when designing a music room will vary wildly. You could go the extra mile and put in soundproofing, lush carpet and turn it into a masterpiece. Or you could just take the time to clear a space use boxes to create a boundary for the room if you don't want to spend a lot.
If the instrument will be stored in the music room you may have to take a few further steps. With most instruments, keeping them dry, clean and safe from damage are the main goals for storing. Also consider your neighbors. The closeness of your garage music room to their home may cause a rift in neighborly relations.
A garage often becomes filled with old boxes and stuff that there is no use for inside the house, but you can easily change that. Having a place for your child to play his instrument is a much better use of the space. Depending on the size of your garage, you may actually be able to fit a car inside after you clean it up and arrange an area as a music room.
