Entertainment has been the need of everyone, from Adam to the people in the present world

. We do not know when man started working, but we can say for sure that he would have started searching for means of entertainment since he started working hard. Like the people of these days, he would have had the need to do some kind of activity which will help him relax. The saying, All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy is true to this day. Working continuously without any entertainment will make us stressed out and it will affect our performance at work. Even the busiest people find some ways to relax themselves in order to perform their tasks efficiently. As technology has developed in leaps and bounds, the field of entertainment also has had a giant improvement.

In the old days, the main and common form of entertainment was watching stage plays and listening to the music played by street musicians. We dont find many street musicians these days but long ago, many people used to play music on street corners for a living. The passersby gather around the musicians and give them money for playing music. This was a popular entertainment for a particular period of time in history. Later, stage plays were enacted and this was a more civilized form of entertainment. People began liking stage plays and as it caught up more attention and had a big audience, many people took it up as their profession. They practiced all day and enacted plays in the night. Soon, watching stage plays became a popular form of entertainment for many people.

The next form of entertainment was Bioscope shows. A Bioscope show is a series of moving pictures. As the pictures are changed, the story is read aloud. The stories were shorter than the stories of the stage play. However, it became popular because it was a mobile form of entertainment and the actors didnt have to travel to different places to enact the play.

Every field has booms and depressions in its life cycle. When technology developed and movies came into the scene, stage plays started having a smaller audience. Watching movies was more interesting as they had more interesting and longer stories. The important thing that attracted the audience was the huge screen. The video was breathtaking for them as they hadnt seen anything like that until then.

After a long time, the television was invented and channels were picked up by antennas connected to the television through cables. The television had a huge welcome among people of all countries. It has become a regular form of entertainment for people since then. It was also easy for television channels to produce programs as they neednt produce long programs like cinemas. In addition, they had many options like music, stage dramas, news programs, and soap operas, among others. The number of channels increased gradually and now people receive excellent services like Verizon FiOS TV.

Cable TV has evolved into satellite TV, i.e., wireless TV. We need not use cable anymore to get the service but use a set top box to receive channels wirelessly. Not only the cable service but also the television has been improved using new technologies. At first there was the black and white television, which evolved into color television and then it has evolved into the latest OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diodes) TV. Cable service providers these days offer services such as Digital Video Recording, through which we can record programs and watch them later. There are many other ways of entertainment that are popular but the television is still the most popular form of entertainment of people all over the world.
