At some point we have all met a friend who has travelled through South-East-Asia;

not only have they made us green with their stories of amazing sunsets and peachy sandy beaches, but they have slipped in the cost of their trip. Or, rather, lack of costs. 10 beach huts in Thailand which has comfy beds, air conditioning, flat screen tv's are a far far cry of what you can get in Europe for the same price.

This is all true. One thing I think we need to remember though is that there are cheap hotel rooms in Europe and England if we look. Remember that you wont be paying a heavy 500 flight to reach your destination either. There are an army of iphone apps and google results to help you find cheap rooms and cheap hotels in some of the biggest cities.

In London one can trod on the same roads the Romans did, pay homage to the Royal family, be entertained on the west end, shop on Oxford road and dine at some fabulous eateries. Finding a cheap hotel in London should be the least of your worries.

Just remember that there are other hotels outside of central London. Try and find one near to a tube stop and you're sorted. Moreover, if you look out there are any number of offers for families and couples to take advantage of when they travel to London. Get discounts on west end shows or vouchers for meals.

Of course, it would be silly not to realise the other great cities that England offers. Manchester is without doubt a fabulous second city which compliments the north perfectly. Hotel rooms are there in the abundance and so are cheap hotel rooms. If you want a big night out you can hit the Print Works; if you want to upgrade a bit head to Deansgate and party with Manchester's 30-somethings on the weekend. You can really shop till you drop in Manchester, head to the Trafford centre. Looking for something non-commercial? The Northern Quarter it is, dubbed a small 'New York' filled with little cafes, vintage stores, charity chops, exciting bars and lots of alleyways.

If you get bored of Manchester (highly doubtful) you can take a train to Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, all about 45 minutes away. All have wonderful hotel rooms. You will definitely be able to find cheap hotel rooms here.
