Travelling Has Become A Luxury

Nowadays, tourism has become one of the fastest developing industries in the world

. Nearly every nation is under the influence of tourism. People around the world are in favor of travelling because it benefits in a number of ways.

First, by travelling people can in person enjoy the beautiful sceneries in different places and visit some famous cities and scenic spots read in the books. At the same time, travelling enables them to derive much pleasure from sight-seeing and photo-taking. Second, travelling relieves people from strain and makes them thoroughly relaxed and ready to resume their work with renewed efforts. Third, travelling offers people opportunities to meet different people and see different things. When they travel, they can learn different customs and gain new experiences and get ideas of local geography and history. Thus, they will come back with a broader mind.

With all these advantages, no wonder travelling has now become more and more popular. However, it should be admitted that travelling is a costly industry despite of its many benefits. Travelling is both money-consuming and time-consuming so that it has already become a luxury for ordinary people.

Money is the primary factor which prevents many people from travelling. In many cases, in order to travel, people have to prepare for a large sum of money especially if they want to travel to a far-away place. As we all know, most scenic spots are highly charged. Scenic sight-seeing expenses are very high and higher entering fees are charged especially during peak travel seasons. Apart from this, transportation expenses and boarding and lodging fees should also be taken into consideration. They are so high that ordinary people can not afford them. It seems that travelling only belongs to the rich but a luxury to the ordinary people.

Time is another factor that hinders peoples desire to go sight-seeing. Most ordinary people often complain that they dont have enough money to travel. However, when they become wealthy, they realize that it is still impossible for them to travel since they cannot afford the time. People of many occupations like workers, doctors, lawyers etc have to work for 10 to 12 hours a day on average and some people even have to go to work at weekends and during holidays. They are so busy that they have no time for anything else including travel. It seems that its impossible for them to have both the money and the leisure time. In view of this, travel is also a luxury for busy people because they are lack of time.

From the above points, we can see the travelling is really a luxury for those who can not afford both the money and the time at the same time. In order to travel, one has to take both the money and time into account.
