But there is very poor lighting on the roads at night time, so it is not recommended to drive after sundown. Sundays are devoted to church activities and it is common for businesses to open from 7 am to 10 am , then close and then reopen in the early evening.
Weather year round, temperatures range from 20 degree C to 26 degree C, the rainy period is from December to March where you can expect heavy downpours.
Main areas to stay are Rarotonga with beautiful mountainous green peaks. Avarua is the main town located on the north shore. Here you will find a selection of restaurants, pubs, souvenir stores and other retail shops. Dont miss the Saturday market where you find fresh produce and the noni juice.
