Treat Your Skin Problems
We are taught from birth that washing our face is something that we need to do every day. If you are anything like the rest of us, washing your face is not the most enjoyable activity and making time to do it every day feels like a hassle. Even after going through puberty and fighting daily breakouts and acne, washing your face probably feels like a chore--especially right before bedtime. Unfortunately, washing your face is the only way to keep dirt and other things from getting into your skin and clogging your pores. Do you really want to be the only person in the office with the acne problem of a teenager? Here is how you keep your face clean and keep acne away.
Make sure your hair stays away from your face.
Hair follicles produce oil, which gets transferred to your hair and then your face if your hair is allowed to hang in your face. If you have long hair that spends most of the day hanging in your face, the oil is easily transferred from follicle to pore which is how pimples are made. We understand the appeal of long hair and bangs, but it is better to keep your hair off of your face. Use a headband to keep your hair back or pull it back into a braid or ponytail. Your pores will be grateful! Wear different makeup (choose a brand that does not clog your skin) or simply wear less makeup each day. You can now buy makeup that includes sunscreen which will help you cut down on the amount of things you apply to your face every morning. You might even choose makeup that is made with minerals included so that the products help your skin instead of simply clogging it. Do not run for the cheapest makeup available. Try not to smear on more makeup than you really need. You want to wear as little makeup as possible. It is still possible to look great even though you aren't wearing dozens of layers of product! Never go to bed with your makeup on-this is very important! If you go to bed with your makeup still on you are pretty much guaranteed to have a breakout in the morning.
At least twice every day you need to wash your face. Your skin is still vulnerable at night when you are asleep. This is why you should have at least a light skincare routine for the mornings as well as the evenings. Your evening cleansing routine will be more involved than the routine you do in the mornings because you will be washing away all of the things that have clogged your pores during the day, but at the bare minimum your face should get cleansed each morning. You'll be glad you've taken the time for this!
You have lots of acne treatments to choose from. Some people swear by harsher cleansers while others opt for natural remedies. Still others insist that a simple balanced diet and getting enough exercise should be enough to keep the acne away. It might take some time before you find the remedy that works best for you. Eventually you will learn what works for you and what won't. Just keep at it and soon you will be able to enjoy having clean skin!
