People over 15 years of age and adults, suffering from allergic rhinitis or asthma are usually recommended to take one 10mg pill a day. Children in the age group of 6 - 14 years suffering from allergic rhinitis or asthma should take 1 chewable 5mg pill a day, while patients in the age group of 2 - 5 years are recommended to be administered one 4 mg chewable pill or 1 pack of 4mg oral granules a day. Asthma patients in the age group of 12 - 23 months should be given one packet of 4 mg oral granules a day in the evening. Note that the safety of this medicine in patients below the age of 1 year has not yet been established.
You can either take the dose directly by mouth or mix it with a spoonful of carrots, ice cream, applesauce or rice at room temperature.
