This can provide a much welcome soothing effect that can help enhance the healing process.

Most cases of shingles are relatively minor, and there is usually no threat of anything more serious than a few weeks of discomfort. However, there is a possibility that the condition will develop into an even more serious issue called postherpetic neuralgia. In order to avoid this, it would be best to start taking shingles herpes zoster treatment within 3 days of identifying the rash. By starting treatment early, you can reduce the severity of the symptoms of the condition, speed up the recovery period, and prevent further complications down the line.

Don't discount the value of simple solutions either. Soaking in a lukewarm bath, using wet compresses, and applying a light hypoallergenic lotion to problem areas can go a long way in soothing and cooling troubled skin. It would also be best to avoid tight clothing and synthetic fabrics. If the condition takes a turn for the worse, immediate medical attention may be necessary in order to prevent complications.
