Just imagine for a moment that you went for a walk in the woods and all you could hear was the wind blowing softly through the trees. What if all you could hear on this walk was the roar of a chainsaw?

This is the world of the tinnitus sufferer. Is their treatment for tinnitus and is it difficult or painful?

If your tinnitus is due to loud noises or an injury which has damaged your ear, there is no easy fix but there is hope. The majority of tinnitus cases result from damage such as loud noises over a long time.

My tinnitus is from a fairly common source: loud music. As a musician I was exposed to electric guitars played loudly and cymbals beaten hard. Ive found there is treatment for tinnitus.

Ive never been a person who liked drugs or their effects. I was given drugs to deal with condition including anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medications. These may have relaxed me but did not solve the problem.

Originally my problem was mostly only at night when I tried to sleep. I found that ear plugs worked for a while and then a fan helped also. However these only helped early in the condition and soon lost their effectiveness as the buzzing increased.

Music as a masking device does help most people as long as its not too loud. I find that sounds of the forest or rain in the jungle tends to help mask the sounds of tinnitus.

There are methods that work for many people as a treatment for tinnitus. Many of these are simple and actually very healthy and positive.

I have a program which I downloaded onto my computer which is a combination of relaxation exercises and biofeedback. Ive found that doing this program before going to bed helps me to sleep and my attitude is more positive.

Sleep deprivation is a result of sounds in your ears and the problem is that lack of sleep just makes the condition worse. Its important for that reason to also stay away from caffeine as much as possible.

The key for me is relaxation. Exercise is very helpful as it relaxes me naturally and makes me tired and sleep tends to come easier.

Some people claim that just ignoring the ringing works for them. I find that difficult but it can be done. If you have something else you can really throw yourself into and to focus on, it is possible to put the noises on the back burner.

Ive tried everything and for me the answer has been a combination of the above treatments. I have not found a cure yet that works for me but I have found a treatment for tinnitus that is allowing me to live normally.

Every day Im getting better and the treatment for tinnitus Im using is working. It is a program that is specific and aimed at ending the noises altogether. Its simple, fun and healthy and I strongly recommend it. Visit www.lifewithouttinnitus.info to get more information and start today to return to a normal life.About the Author:
