Tricks To Getting Served At The Pub Quicker

Nothing is worse than standing with a group of people at the bar

, waiting to get served. The longer you wait, the longer your anger builds as you stare at the bar tender nonchalantly serving a customer here and there as if to say "I couldn't care less if you get a beer or not, I'm too good for this job anyways."

One thing that is unavoidable, no matter what pub you go to is the inevitable fact that a lot of bar tenders are pretty apathetic about their job. Whether it's because they are working whilst everyone is having fun, it's a second job they need to do because they don't get payed enough or they are uni students who think that because they've completed a business degree they are overqualified, the fact is you have to grit your teeth and bare it.

Fortunately, there are a few little techniques you can use at virtually every pub to ensure you get served a little bit quicker than the rest of the crowd, which will ultimately mean less time lining up at the pub and more time getting drunk at the pub.

So here is a list of tricks to getting served quicker at the pub:

Eye contact

If you think it's your turn to get served, try and make eye contact with the bar tender. In this way, the bar tender will serve you quicker in an effort to avoid any confrontation that might arise as a result of blatantly ignoring you.

Have Your Money Out

Nothing pisses off bar tenders more than a customer messing around trying to find money. It slows the whole process down and gives the other pub patrons the cranks. Have your money out and ready to go. This shows the bar tender you are ready to buy something and you will do it quickly.

Know What You Want

Nothing will make a bar tender want to punch you in the face more than if you stand there after waiting a while to be served and go "ummmmmm, uuuuurrrrrggghhhhh, hmmmmm."

The Change

Tell them to keep the change if it isn't going to break your budget, and save them the hassle. If you do this, most bar tenders, whether you are in a bar, nightclub or pub will like you for giving them a tip and making their lives just a little bit easier.

Empathize

Irrespective of whether the bar tender is busy or just lazy, say "whoa you look busy." Build a repoir so they remember you and for the rest of the night you will be their favourite customer.
