Wondering what to do this weekend? How about a trip to the 25-feet Zanzari waterfalls? Situated near the banks of river Zanzari waterfalls, AhmedabadVatrak in Dehgam, Zanzari is at a distance of 75-80 km from Ahmedabad. From the city, take the route via Himmatnagar to reach your destination.

Some Logistics, Some Facts

Zanzari is famous for its natural beauty and awe-inspiring waterfall. The ideal time to visit the place is after the monsoon, between September and December.

There are no signboards, so the only way you can reach your destination is by asking for directions. After reaching, you will have to walk for almost three kilometers from the parking area to reach the waterfalls. And if you go there in summers or winters, due to the lack of water, you will have to walk past the rocky craters to reach the riverbed in the middle. If you are there during the monsoons, be a little careful as the place can get slippery.

You can also get a camel ride to the waterfalls. If you haven't taken one, then we suggest you try it out. It will be a different experience altogether.

During summers, the flow of the water is less ferocious and so you can even go near the waterfalls and sit or play. The rocky craters tend to get used as places to sit and spread around by those picnicking.

Food options

For food, you may not get many options here other than a small shop near the parking area. They usually cook bajre ki roti (millet bread) and shaak (vegetable curry). Go there only if you are not very health conscious, as the curry floats in oil. You can even have food from the roadside dhabas on the way. All tea lovers will be pleased to find a number of kitlis on the way.

Take food along with you. Don't litter the place.

Wearing shoes will be preferable as it will help you to walk on the rocky terrain better.
