Trophies - Not Just For Little League

When you think of trophies, do you simply think of the little awards given out at the end of little league season or for perfect attendance at your child's school

? While these are legitimate times to use such rewards, there are far better times to turn to them as well. We do not outgrow the desire to be rewarded, and adults appreciate a token just as much as children. After all, what is an Emmy or Golden Globe award if not a fancy trophy?

So what are some grown-up uses for trophies? These often show up in the business setting. A custom promotional trophy can be given to an employee who deserves recognition, and these can make a lovely addition to that employee's desk to serve as a decoration or even a paperweight. They can also be given to employees to celebrate anniversaries with the company. Making them larger for the more years the individual has been with the company allows each worker to have a nice display on his or her desk.

The fact is, a trophy is the ultimate symbol of success in any endeavor. It is something given to the "winner," and thus showcases the success of whomever you give it to. If you make a habit of rewarding the "winners" in your company with trophies, you will find that the rest of your employees work harder. Not necessarily because they want a trophy, but because they can see that you are going to reward their hard work.

Of course, these symbols of success also have a role to play in the world of sports, and it is not limited to the sports played by young people. If you are involved in an adult sporting event or league, consider purchasing trophies for the winning team. This makes the competition even more interesting and intense, because there will be something to show for the effort it takes to win.

Do not forget the younger set when thinking about uses for these rewards. They commonly make an appearance in the sporting event world, but there are other uses for a trophy for children. Sometimes instrumental teachers will give out a trophy to a student who has done a superior job, met practice requirements, or performed above and beyond at a recital. Teachers can present a trophy in the classroom for various accomplishments, such as perfect attendance, excellent reading work, or memorizing the multiplication tables.

When it comes to trophies, the sky is the limit regarding the number of uses you will find. You will also find the actual options to be far more diverse than you might imagine. Choose everything from a traditional trophy with a small gold or silver statue on the top to something carved out of glass and showcasing your company logo etched in the top. Consider finding a source where you can buy customized awards. This will allow you to add the recipient's name, the event, and even a custom logo.
