Appreciation is the mantra on which the world survives and gives the motivation to the sportsperson to further perform better. Medals, trophies are in a way the appreciation that makes one strive even better and you see satisfaction and accomplishments of ones efforts. The trophies and medals of the sports events care an indication of the financial assets of the organizers. The wealthy the organizing committee, the expensive is the trophy i.e it would come in gold, silver or glass as per the finances involved in the event.

The Trophies and medals can be part of any event not just sports, be it some social service function or retirement of an employee from the company, all can be felicitated with the same. All that matters is the feeling with which it is given and the felicitation that you want to bestow.
