. Alan E. Ball born May 13, 1957. He is known for writing the film American Beauty and creating and producing the HBO series Six Feet Under. Alan's TV show premiered on September 7th, 2008 and had 1.4 million viewers. The first season of True Blood had 12 episodes and by the twelfth episode "You'll Be the Death of Me" the show has over 2.45 million fans. When the second season also consisting of 12 episodes aired on June 14th, 2009, It's fan base had grown even more and had 3.7 million viewers. Finally when the second season finale "Beyond Here Lies Nothing" aired on Sept 13th, 2009 the show had reached an astonishing 5.1 million viewers, making this show one of the most successful shows to air on HBO.

Part of the shows success is undoubtedly attributed to the recent Vampire trend sweeping across the world. Since the show is based on the "The Southern Vampire Mysteries" (also known as "The Sookie Stackhouse Novels) by Charlaine Harris its arrival was near the beginning of the Vampire craze. The series revolves around Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic waitress living in the town of Bon Temps, Louisiana, two years after the invention of a synthetic blood called Tru Blood. This blood allowed vampires to allow their presence to be known to mankind. As they struggle for equal rights and assimilation the anti-vampire organizations begin to gain power. Sookie's world is turned upside down when she falls in love with a 173 yr old vampire Bill Compton. Of course there relationship faces many trials and tribulations and complicated intimacy issues.
