Hobbies are meant to make our extra time productive and be able to make great things. The spare time that we have on weekends can be spent by turning and art into a great hobby. For busy people like us it can be a little hard to give extra time for a hobby.

Hobbies can make you relax and think and stay away from than demands of the corporate world. Having your own type of hobby can make you know yourself better and give yourself a break. Once in a while it will be healthy to take things slow and indulge in the arts. If others would do, knitting, crocheting, sewing like creating cross stitching, why not give card making a hand? Card making can really be a good art that can be utilized as a great hobby. Card making need not be very expensive like other hobbies that I know of. This hobby is very close to creating slum books and albums. Cards that you make can be kept for any occasion that may come up.

All you need would be art materials and coloring stuff that are easily available in all bookstores and stationery. Make wedding cards if you have a girl friend that will be marrying soon. I am sure that she will be delighted to see a collage or a decoupage art on a card. Decoupage is a new trend in card making that makes use of paper cut outs that you can just get from old magazines and books. Decoupage is a French term that means creating art out of paper cut outs and gluing them together. This can be done by using old gift wrappers and cutting them into small details. Once cut you can paste them on cards and create your messages of love, care, sympathy or whatever calls or the occasion. Card making is a refreshing kind of art that should never be forgotten and abandoned as we move and go digital in this age of technology. No other ways of communication can ever equal the genuine emotions of writing your personal card for someone dear. Bring back the art of card making and turn your spare time into a worthwhile passion.
