TweetAdder: the best Twitter app for follower management (review)

I'm pretty proud of the fact that I got more than 5000 Twitter followers without using spam

, scams or software.

My tactic was simple: I made sure new posts at my blog were tweeted automatically.

This gave my followers a regular stream of stuff from me, but not too much.

Using MarketMeTweet to monitor what conversations were going on, I also retweeted other people's good tweets. My followers appreciated my introducing them to new people who had cool things to say.

And finally, I used a trick called "follow the followers." That is, I looked at the people already following someone else who writes about the same topics I do, then I followed their followers. Usually, most of these people would end up following me, too. After all, we were all interested in the same topics, right?

(Note: don't follow more than 50 people on Twitter each day, or Twitter will delete your account without warning. Twitter says they allow more than that, but don't take a chance. Believe me: once your Twitter account has been deleted, it is gone forever!)

I did all this manually, and it took a lot of time.

However, I recently got the chance to try TweetAdder software, which promised to automate these tasks. So first I tried out the familiar "follow the followers" method using TweetAdder.

Under "Search", I selected "Search the Followers of Another User", typed in their @name, and hit "Search."

A pop up came up, I selected all names that were listed and then I didn't understand what I was supposed to do next.

Luckily, I figured it out by myself eventually, through trial and error. TweetAdder says there's a "Who to Follow Tab" but I can't find it. However, I just went to "Follow" and selected "Send Follows Now".

Sure enough, that started the "follow the followers" process, except it was all automated.

It took me a while to find my way around TweetAdder. Like Twitter itself, it isn't immediately clear what you are supposed to do.

I think they could make it a lot easier to use not even the tutorials were very helpful. Or maybe I'm just pressed for time and impatient. However, after playing around with TweetAdder a while, it became part of my daily Twitter account maintenance routine.

Each morning, TweetAdder launches automatically and I've set it up to perform certain tasks. It unfollows people who aren't following me back, and follows those that are (again, limit yourself to 50 follows per day.)

Note: since you're probably following a few famous people who aren't follow you back, always choose the option called "Only Unfollow users that were followed [that is, added] using TweetAdder."

After all, chances are you chose to follow that celebrity on Twitter manually, right? TweetAdder almost has too many functions and options. I'm still experimenting with its different features, to get the most out of it. Here are some of its features:

* Auto Follow Targeted Twitter Users to get your message out

* Rapidly Increase Niche Twitter followers for higher social proof

* Manage Multiple Accounts and save valuable time

* Automate Twitter Posts, Scheduled Tweets, Unfollows, DMs and more

* Increase your site traffic to boost sales

* Find Like-Minded Twitter Followers in Seconds

* Delete Direct Messages

And most importantly: Spend time on other tasks while the program works for you. I love that you can get Mac or PC versions of TweetAdder.

TweetAdder is the best Twitter app I've used for the management of my followers.
