So first of all, what is Twitter? Well, basically its a fun and easy way to keep in contact with friends, that perfect way to stay close...but not too close to your family, or even a great way to keep tabs on you favorite celebrities. Did you know you can use Twitter for productive reasons though? Properly using Twitter can lead to productive leads that come to you.

So you might be wondering how that little blue bird can help you achieve success with your business. Well its actually quite simple. All you need to do is implement those same skills you use to build relationships with your friends to build relationships with other business savvy people to construct leads. The best thing about Twitter is that you can use it to market for free. Take the time to educate your fellow business people, guide them to shared success, and implement your business ideas.

Its one thing to know that you can use Twitter for your business, but its an entirely different thing to understand how to use it. Its rather easy once you get the hang of it, but can be confusing at the start so I will give you a step by step guide to get you started.

The first step is pretty obvious, Get a Twitter account. Simple, right? Great, now that you have gotten started, you need to get a good list of followers started. This part can seem very scary, however with a little bit of ingenuity you can go from zero friends to hundreds in just a few days. Step two involves finding someone who is in your target audience and adding them some of their friends as followers. Repeat step two every day and you will be quick to getting many leads.

Now, unlike other social networking sites, like Facebook, people post on Twitter multiple times a day, and it can be a bit overwhelming Fear not, as long as your posts contain some value and information, then people will read them. Remember, you don't want to pitch your business all the time, people don't like that.

Remember, when you're out there branding yourself with your "tweets" make sure they are helpful. You want as much value as you can get and helping people and being a leader is best way to get it.

There are many more ways you can use Twitter other then these basic steps that I taught you here, many applications that can help you on the way. Start with the basics and master them.
