Two Effective Ways To Fill Your Store With Dollar Merchandise Fast

Stocking your dollar store shelves with unbelievable bargains isn't always easy and

requires you to keep a vigil eye out for ways to find the best deals for your customers. The first method of filling your shelves is more traditional. You simply use vendors that advertise merchandise for dollar stores. However, you can take that traditional approach one step further and use wholesalers that carry closeout, liquidation and overstocked products.

Closeout items come from store shelves may have original price tags on them and are often the items that remain on the shelves at the end of a specific period. The tags may show the price drastically reduced at their original location. However, failing to sell at that price, rather than allowing the items to take up space, the company or store boxes these in bulk to sell as a closeout items and at least retrieve some of their loss. While you might know everything in the box is clothing, you won't know exactly what each piece is or looks like until you open the box. It's like getting a surprise package each time you order and finding exciting bargains for your customers in the process.

Liquidations may either be merchandise from a store that's still in business or one that's going out of business. If the store is still in business, it may merchandise from their catalogue or store shelves that are now out of season or replaced by newer models. If it's from a company going out of business, it's a compendium of everything left in the store. These are often huge bargains, particularly in the area of clothing, if your customers don't mind wearing last year's style of jeans or blouses.

Overstocked items never even made it to the shelves before it was time to remove them from stock. The items remain in their original bags with no store price tags. Again, you'll find remarkable bargains for your customers, particularly when it's not important whether they have the latest item on the market to make a fashion statement or be the first to own it, which identifies many of the dollar store customers. It's all about the bargains.

You don't always have to go to wholesalers to fill these needs. Many companies sell their overstocked, closeout items and liquidations directly to other retailers, cuts out the cost of the wholesaler. It means you can give your shoppers even bigger discounts on the items or increase your profit margins.
