A light colour tent will let light in during the day and keep you cooler at night which is ideal for a summers night . but will wake you up earlier. As for a darker tent will let less light in during the day but will absorb the heat and could make it quite uncomfortable to relax and lay down in the tent during the day.

The portability and convenience of the tents is also a key factor when buying a tent, the easier the tent is to pack the quicker you can move on in your expedition. You will need to look at how quickly the tent can be set up, broken down and stored away, you may want the tent well ventilated to keep it aired out and comfortable for the next time you need to use it. Many tents have small storage compartments for small camping equipment like your torch and maps.
