Types Of Printers
"Today, printers are classified into different types
. Files that are saved in computers can now be produced into hard copies because of printers. The types of printers also have different capabilities. Here is a list of the general types of printers:
Laser Printer
The main advantage of this type of printer is probably its efficiency and speed at printing. These are very expensive but it is cheap to run. They produce the highest quality output in comparison with the other types of printers. The maintenance, servicing and repair of this type of printing device is very high, thus, laser printers are not the choice for home users.
Dot-Matrix Printers
These are the old models of printers, thus very noisy and printing is very slow. Dot-matrix printers have a poor output quality. But they are very affordable and can be very reliable. The best thing about these kinds of printers is that you can be able to put rolls of paper into it, thus, reducing the load time. With these printers, you can also print long banners that when done in other types, can consume a lot of short or long bond papers. They produce low-quality prints and are more prone to paper jams.
Ink-Jet or Bubble-Jet Printer
These are affordable printers. The printing is fast and the output is of good quality. Most models are relatively light weight and compact so they don't take up too much space on the desk. Due to the cost of ink, running an ink-jet printer over time is certainly more costly than using a laser printer. Prints emerge from the printer slightly wet and may need some time time to dry, unlike laser printers. These are slow compared to laser printers and these printers aren't suitable for printing large volumes.
Multifunction Printers
These kinds of printer combine top quality color ink jet or laser printing with plain paper and PC faxing, color copying, scanning and there are some models that include telephoning put in one compact machine. If you work from home or have a small office a multifunctional device may be ideal for you.
Laser and ink jet printers are the two widely used printers for printing business cards. Why? Because these two are the most practical types and they are capable of producing high quality results. Since you are printing these cards for business, you need to consider the quality of the prints produced and how much you will be selling the cards. Therefore, you need to choose the right printer that can provide you with the best output possible.
