What are space heaters? Space heaters are used mainly to heat a room or two of a house or an office

. It is also used to further heat a room when the other heater does not effectively distribute the heat across the house. They are relatively portable and easy to use. Most can be transferred from one room to another and are also known to have an easy ON and OFF function as most of them will only require you to turn the valve or switch on or off, without requiring any other preparations.

There are electric and non-electric types.

Electric space heaters convert the available energy in the form of electricity into heat. If you are planning to buy an electric space heater, you have three kinds to consider. First is the convection type. A convection heater will circulate the heat through the flow of air in your room. It has a fan that can be used not only for heating your room, but for cooling your place during the summer. Another electric space heater type is the fan heater. Like the convection heater, fan heaters use fans to circulate the heat around the room but they heat a room faster. However, the downside is that it is rather loud and if you like to have a peace and quiet then this is not exactly the heater for you. The third is the radiant type. Unlike the convection and fan heaters, these do not depend on built in fans.

Non-electric space heaters use gas or wood to warm up an area. There are three types of non-electric space heaters. First, the kerosene heaters make use of a wick that immerses kerosene from a refillable tank. This type is capable of warming up a larger space compared with any of the previously mentioned types. Most kerosene heaters are unvented and this may be one of its downsides as it poses the threat of releasing too many pollutants into the air. Another heater is the natural gas space heater which uses natural gas or propane. Several brands of this type include oxygen depletion sensors that automatically shut off the heater when oxygen levels go too low.

As you can see, there are a variety to choose from. Before buying one, it is better that you know what your purpose is, to heat a room, or heat a larger area?
