Types Of The Poker Players
There are not two the same rakeback poker players
, however we can classify all of them to a few main groups. Every group prefers a special style of play. The most popular are:
Tight-Aggressive (TAG) this is the easiest style of play and the most successful one.
Rakeback player using that style attaches big attention to the hand selection. He plays only strong hands from the good position. He doesnt see too many flops, but if he joins the game he plays very aggressively trying to maximize the gains from each of the pots. The minus of this style is that we can get bluffed out from the pot easily and that a good poker player can read us easily. On the micro games it is not such a problem though as we wont meet good players there. On the higher stakes we have to mix the game as we can become an easy target to the other aggressive
full till rakeback players.
Tight-Passive that means the player is rather weak, who doesnt really know how to estimate the strength of the hand after the flop and hes got a lot of problems with playing the cards after the flop.
Even if before the flop one player is able to properly select hands, without hitting a good set on a flop it is easy to rise when the cards are handed over.
Loose-passive is a kind of player everybody would like to have at the table. Plays a lot of hands, looks at many flops at the same time being deprived of aggression himself. On the top of that after the flop often checks the beats with strange sets (3 pair, gut-shot draw) himself beating just a little or not at all. It is the weakest kind of game, often such a player is earmarked ascalling station or a dream foe, who will increase our money if we win but will not be able of winning big money himself, even if there is a good set in hand.
At the end the style loose-aggressive (LAG), on one side it is the most difficult to master and on the other side it cold prove being the most profitable during cash games. Nevertheless, due to its level of difficulty its players should be divided into two categories:
loose-aggressive (Maniac) playing aggressively lots of cards, the quality of his card is not important to him, Maniac will play win lots of small sums, but it is easy to put him in a trap if you have a strong set yourself. Usually such a player can give away the whole stack in two or more games bluffing with virtually nothing. His lack of discipline and our careful observation of what is going on at the table to become a fully-fledged loose-aggressive.
loose-aggressive (good player) An extremely uncomfortable opponent for deciphering. He can play any card, very often he beats up before the flop and continuous his aggressive game after flop. But in contrast to a Maniac he can read the resistance in his opponent, his strong hand and flee in the right moment
