Mobile phone industry has emerged as the sudden flood everywhere around the world

, initially mobiles were used by the higher class people only due to their unaffordable prices & expensive call rates, but the scenario today is altogether different, you can catch everyone holding a mobile in their hand from a lower class to higher class individual, the mobile have become a very basic need of a man these days. Though the basic motive of carrying a mobile was common for everyone years ago; to be in touch with your social circle from anywhere & anytime but today mobiles are the matter of prestige as well, who holds more expensive & latest application mobile phone.

Now mobiles are categorized into classes like Business or executive phones, Music phones, Camera phones etc. so you may carry any of your choice and requirement. there are certain scales on which an individual selects a particular model of mobile phone like the overall looks, features & applications, durability, price and above all the most important factor that strikes a buyer's mind to choose a handset is the battery backup, how long its battery goes so that he may not have to face problem in the case he doesn't get time or place to charge the battery of mobile, so the mobile manufacturing companies too emphasize more on providing the best performance battery accordingly.

With the rapidly rising competition, all the big mobile assembling players have seriously started understanding the value of attaching more powerful batteries, the brand Nokia which is dominating the cell phone market in India has proved it that to grow in the market like India, you cannot compromise with the battery capacity, Nokia mobiles are recognized & loved by everyone due to its longer battery backup than other of the major players.

There are four types of batteries have been used with the mobiles since the initial stage of mobile manufacturing; Nickle Cadmium Batteries (NiCd), Nickel Metal Hydrid Batteries (NiMH), Lithium Ion Batteries (Li-Ion) & Lithium Polymer batteries (Li-Poly).

The very first generation mobile batteries which were used with the initial mobiles were Nickle Cadmium (NiCd) Batteries which used to big in size, less capacious and the biggest drawback was its charging condition that, this needs to be completely discharged to recharge it again. Second generation batteries were Nickel Metal Hydrid (NiMH) batteries which were higher in performance and lesser in size than the previous generation NiCd batteries which is being made of non toxic environment friendly material, but this too has a major drawback that this needs to be fully discharged after every 20th charging otherwise it may would damage the phone memory, the third generation Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) batteries are the batteries that almost every of the mobile is been loaded with, these are obviously smaller in size and greater in performance comparatively than pre-generation batteries, but overcharging these batteries for more than 24 hours can damage the handset.

The latest milestone in the history of mobile batteries has been just marked with the newly developed Lithium Polymer (Li-Poly) Batteries that is considered to be the much more upgraded version of existing Li-Ion batteries, and the battery has turned lighter, smaller & extremely high performer, so looking at the size of the batteries, much slimmer phones can be expected to be launched by the companies in coming time.
