Toronto, Canada - GAO RFID Inc. (www.GAORFID.com) has launched this Gen 2 RFID reader with integrated antenna. It is especially suitable for inventory management found in supply chain, logistics and on shop floors.

This Gen 2 RFID reader, model 216003, operates over the frequency range of 902.75 to 927.25 MHz. It includes a high-performance, circularly polarized antenna, which ensures a simple, affordable and low profile RFID installation. It is also equipped with a port for a second external antenna connection that makes it suitable for both single and dual antenna applications.

A well-documented SDK featuring .NET and Java libraries enables easy development of custom interfaces to control the reader. This RFID reader is compatible with EPC Gen 2 and ISO 18000-6C tag protocols and LAN protocols including DHCP, TCP/IP and NTP.

This portable RFID reader has Power over Ethernet (POE) capability allowing power to be delivered over properly-equipped local area networks, eliminating expensive AC wiring installation. A standard AC/DC power converter is also provided in case PoE is not available. The high performance reader has two inputs, two outputs and offers LED indicators for power, LAN link, RF-on and fault.

This portable Gen 2 RFID reader belongs to GAO's family of 900 MHz UHF RFID readers.
