The gameplay was one of the very few qualms gamers had with the first Uncharted and I am glad to say that it has evolved greatly in this sequel. The repetitiveness of duck and cover gameplay in the original is complemented by many changes of pace in Among Thieves. Whether you are running from a truck barreling down on you, escaping a collapsing bridge, or on a runaway train, the pace is anything but constant. Uncharted 2 also introduces a stealth option to the mix. The player can now sneak around an area and pick off enemies one by one instead of going in guns blazing which totally alters the way you approach each situation.

Graphics: 10 / 10

Graphically, this is arguably the best game ever. It is truly remarkable what Naughty Dog has been able to do in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Each locale from snow covered mountain sides to war-torn cities is polished down to the textures of each brick laying on the grounded. Everyone was impressed with the water effects in Uncharted and in Uncharted 2 because not only does the water look better, the snow effects are amazingly presented.

The character models are spectacular as well. Nathan Drake has so many different animations that it literally felt at times you're controlling a real person. I was also appreciative of the tiny fine details, like the ring hanging from Drake's neck, and the way it responded to his movements. Everything about this game is so realistic and dynamic, it makes you feel like you're moving characters from a live action movie.

Sound: 10 / 10

The music in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves isn't as original as it could have been, but it still delivered what was required to set the tone, mood, and pace of the game. The sound effects were also remarkable and well added to the environment which kept the "real world" feeling much alive during the gameplay.

The most impressive part about the sound was the dialogue. The voice work is spectacular thoughout the entire game and when characters converse in cut scenes, there's so much believeable expressions and relatable personalities, that I again forget they're not real people. Drake's humor and wise cracks also kept me amused and laughing throughout the game.

Challenge/Replay Value:10 / 10

The main storyline of Uncharted 2 took me about 10 hours to finish on a Normal difficulty mode, but I only found about 35 of the 100 treasure pieces. There are numerous unlockables in the single player campaign including videos and skins. Needless to say, the treasures, unlockables, and the minimum 3 play-throughs you will go through are more than enough to tide you over, but Naughty Dog went over and beyond that and adds a multiplayer component to the Uncharted franchise!

The multiplayer mode is built up of deathmatch, capture the treasure (similar to capture the flag), king of the hill, and chain reaction. Each of these quests are quite engaging and will keep you addicted for many extra hours. The common third person shooter elements, combined with the polished platforming, makes for an original multiplayer experience. There is also a co-op mode in which you and a few partners find yourselves up against waves of computer AI mercenaries. There is also a type of capture the treasure mode in this co-op multiplayer mode.

Some of you may have read that Naughty Dog discussed the multiplayer of Uncharted 2 with the guys at Infinity Ward and Bungie to make sure they got it right. This is most evident in the perk system, which is very reminiscent of the perks that you find in Call of Duty 4. By making money online you will be able to unlock numerous perks, skins and weapon upgrades for co-op.

To sum it all up, this is the most polished and best all around game I have played this generation. I highly recommend the adventure to everyone and confident the experience won't disappoint.
