Understanding Common Windows Errors

We all tend to believe that computers are infallible

. After all, theyre machines, so they shouldnt have any problems and should be able to run perfectly all of the time. There are, however, a few flaws with this theory. The first flaw is that computers are vulnerable, especially if they do not have a good anti-virus program, or if they have an anti-virus program that has not been updated in awhile. The second problem is that computers are vulnerable to human error, as we are the ones who are doing all of the controlling. That is why when something is installed wrong, or when we accidentally delete something our computer needs, the machine doesnt work. There are a number of common Windows errors that almost every owner of Windows has seen at least once.

Invalid Page Fault

You may occasionally be operating your computer and receive a Windows error message that says that you have an invalid page fault. But what, exactly, is an invalid page fault? This occurs when parameters are passed between some programs you have downloaded or have installed and the Windows operating system. When you receive the message that you have an invalid page fault, your computer is having a difficult time accessing what it needs to in order to run all the pieces that it needs to operate. This can occur for a variety of reasons, including a shortage of RAM, because you dont have enough free disc space, or because your memory area is damaged by a program that you have installed or a virus you have picked up from somewhere.

Fatal Exception Messages

The word fatal is scary, isnt it? A fatal exception message can cause even the most knowledgeable computer people to get sweat at their temples. But what, exactly, is it? A fatal exception message is a code that you will receive if your computer is unable to access specific information. For instance, if access to an illegal instruction has suddenly been encountered, or if an invalid code or data has been discovered by your computer, you will get this error message. When this happens, there are a few ways to fix the problem. Sometimes simply rebooting your computer will fix it. Other times, you must take more drastic measures.

Kernel32.DLL

The Kernal32.DLL Windows error message is one that is caused due to a missing dynamic link library file. This library file handles the management of memory in your computer. If you receive a Windows error message like this, you likely have a problem that can be easily fixed. You may have a damaged password list, or an incorrect version of the file, or you could just have low disc space. Or you could have a damaged registry, which is a much more serious problem and may take longer to fix.

Damaged Files

You try to find something and suddenly your computer says that it cant run the program that you want it to run. You get a Windows error message that says that the file is missing or is damaged. Most people immediately try to figure out what they have done in order to cause this problem to occur, and while sometimes it might be something that you have inadvertently done that makes it happen, quite often it is a problem that occurred because of something that you didnt do. This problem can be solved, first, by identifying what caused the problem. You can try manually looking for the file that youre missing in your computer, but make sure that you dont delete anything, as this could cause another whole host of problems. Once you figure out where the problem is, you can then go ahead and try to solve the problem.

Blue Screen

Probably the most feared Windows error message to get isnt a message at all, but a color: blue. The blue screen, often called the blue screen of death, is a problem that many people fear because it means that you have a very serious problem with your computer. Think about how a hospital has different levels of care. If you have an emergency, you head straight for the Emergency Room, where you will most likely be able to be patched up. If you have something a bit more serious, you may be admitted to a general hospital room. If you are extremely ill, you are admitted to the ICU. The blue screen of death is a Windows error message that means that your computer is in immediate need of an ICU. This means that you have a critical problem and that something has gone extremely wrong. This is definitely a Windows error message that should be feared for a variety of reasons. The first, and most important, is because it can cause you to lose almost all of the information you currently have stored on your computer. You will undoubtedly need to refer this problem to a professional.
