Every country has its sports it is known for. Savate French Boxing is the chief martial art of the French. In the 19th century, players used to wear heavy boots while playing the game hence the name Savate. In French, the word "Savate" is a synonym for "shoe," The male savate practitioners are called savateur while the females are the savate use. In this kind of boxing, the participants are allowed to use only the foot kicks. However, modern savate boxing combines some of the western features. These might include a combination of the hands and feet.
The modern

Savate boxing made an ultimate leap in 1924 at the Olympic Games in Paris. It is here that it was included as a demonstration sport. Further, the International University Sports Federation (FISU) recognized Soviet in 2008. This gave room to an opportunity for official Savate boxing University World Championships.

In French boxing Savate, glove colors are used to indicate the fighters level of expertise. If a fighter moves to a higher rank, changing of glove colors is not a necessity.
