The only people that can get VZV are the ones that have not had chickenpox. The virus is transmitted through coughing, sneezing or from the chickenpox sores. Chickenpox is more itchy than shingles but less severe.

Epstein-Barr

Epstein-Barr is also known as HHV-4. This virus which causes cancer is a widespread threat to humans. In fact, in United States the signs of infection were felt in 50% of children who are five years old and approximately 90 to 95 percent of adults. When transmitted during childhood, the virus does not show any symptoms however, in the case of young adults, HHV-4 can result in mononucleosis. There are some strong and valid proofs that recommend this virus to have a function in the pathogenesis of diseases such as multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus and dermatomyositis.

Cytomegalovirus

Cytomegalovirus is also known as Human Herpes Virus 5 (HHV-5) and, more commonly, HCMV. Just like other herpes viruses, HCMV has the characteristic of staying dormant in the human body over a long duration of time. This virus is commonly found in all geographic locations and infects about 50% to 70% of the adult population in the U.S. But it typically does not cause any symptoms. HIV positive causes visual impairment and a number of other problems.

Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpes virus

Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpes virus is formally known as HHV-8. It is known to lead to a type of skin cancer known as Kaposi's sarcoma. People who have AIDS are affected by Kaposi's sarcoma.
