Understanding The Importance Of Cognizing Student Culture

There is an assumption that student life can be conceived only when trying what it is like to be a student

. However, each student would react to this opinion in different ways because each situation can be uniquely evaluated by students and they can provide explanations and decisions in their own ways. Hence, some might say that student culture is closely associated with nuances of schedule and majors being selected. Others would emphasize that student culture involves active participation in different outclass projects, organization of contests and meetings. One way or another, both opinions have the right to existence because college life and culture involves everything that is held on-campus. Arising from the above, student life is composed of the following aspects:

1.An academic process

This aspect encompasses a broad arrow of activities and people. In particular, we communicate with our tutors and professors and with other students. Attending courses, expressing your opinion, doing a home assignment are also enclosed in a portfolio of academic activities.

2.Extracurricular activities

This area of cultural environment embodies the things and plans that have not been fulfilled in the course of an academic course. This is where a student can reveal his/her hidden talents and capability or just have a good time.

3.Student media

Each person has the freedom of speech and, therefore, each student has a possibility to express his/her opinion in public. Those who feel that journalism is their calling can become the member of a student newspaper.

4.Location

Aside from moral and ethical underpinnings of cultural life, the setting also has its cultural value. Therefore, a college/university town should be considered as an important part of student culture.

Of course, there are some minor aspects complementing the definition of student culture, like friendship, accommodation, ethics, and other nuances.
