On the other hand, the External type of Hemorrhoids are damaged veins outside the anus. They are normally found in the inside of the butt because they are too swollen, that's why they protrudes. This is called prolapsed hemorrhoids. Common symptoms of this kind of hemorrhoids are mild itching or burning sensation, bleeding, varying levels of pain depending on the severity of the condition.

There are several ways to treat hemorrhoids. Both external and internal hemorrhoids can be treated by sitz bath of hot bath. This may reduce swelling and pain.

Ice packs also help reduce the swelling and provide temporary pain relief. Just place the ice on the affected area for a few minutes. You may try adding some herbs for maximum effect. Purified aloe vera and calendula are some of the examples.

For external hemorrhoids you may try hemorrhoid creams, medicated wipes and over-the-counter oral medicines. Suppositories are for internal hemorrhoid although you may use topical medicated creams. These products are easily absorbed by the skin.

If self medications no longer work for your hemorrhoids and your hemorrhoidal symptoms are not improving, you may try alternative hemorrhoid removal procedures. There are non surgical and surgical procedures that you can choose from.
