The most vital home remedy is to follow a dietary plan which does not include gas producing foods. For example, some vegetables like beans, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, etc should be completely avoided. Tofu can be substituted for beans since it has the same protein value but with a more digestible protein. Cutting down artificial sweeteners, carbonated beverages, etc go a long way in eliminating gas formation in the body.

There are many combinations of herbal tea that gives relief from the gas problem. Herbs like anise, peppermint, chamomile, and fennel can be brewed and devoured to give effective relief from gas. A tea made from blanched verbena leaves also is a good home remedy for gas.

A teaspoonful of ginger juice mixed with equal quantities of lime juice can give relief from the pain caused by gas formation in the stomach. Parsley tea is also renowned for its medicinal properties. Tea brewed with passion fruit and peach leaves help to fight the gas attacks.

The kitchen cupboard also has several home remedies for gas problems. A pinch of Asafoetida mixed in lukewarm water shows positive results. Drinking two teaspoons of brandy mixed with lukewarm water before going to bed relieves gas problem as it aides in accelerating the digestive process. The victims should also avoid overeating and try to avoid high fat content foods to reduce and completely eliminate the symptoms of gas.
