This means that you can actually practice in making a good web page design before you actually figure out how to make a website. No matter how the layout of the mockup looks, there should be a way to create a lively web page design based on the mockup using one or more of the programming languages. It is important that you know this flexibility because you need to show to your site's content really attracts visitors. However, the problem with this flexibility is that you may end up with a design that really doesn't match the theme of your site.

For instance, if you want to come up with a site that is more emphasized on text, you should learn how to make a website with minimal design elements. The graphics should be very light and the text should be larger so it is easier for people to read regardless of screen size. If you want to make your site look a bit "pretty" resort to JavaScript for adding animations, effects and transitions.

If you have a unique message that you want to send, you may want to make your site look a little bit more artistic and/or abstract. These types of sites have greater impact because visitors can react the second they see the overall look of your site. That impact may cause these visitors to bookmark your site immediately which is always a good thing. Think "unconventional" when designing these types of websites but don't avoid templates because you can edit them to a point where they look very different.

But if you are advertising a hot new product, you need to do more than just being artistic. You have to come up with a design that really begs for attention. This is where the text starts to take a back seat to give way to the flashy graphics and other eye-popping animations and effects. Standard HTML and JavaScript might not be enough to make these kinds of sites. HTML 5, Java and Adobe Flash are good platforms to try out when you need to make a serious impact. If you are not familiar with the languages, try downloading a template so you can personalize it.

Even if you have a lot of knowledge on these languages, you should always get yourself inspired by looking at other web page designs so you can come up with some ideas in making something more unique.
